In September, second through sixth grade focused on fiber arts in art class. Second and third grade students learned how to sew using yarn, needles, and burlap. Fourth grade students created their very own stuffie using felt. Fifth and sixth grade students learned about Batik, which is a form of fabric dyeing from Indonesia. Inspired by the Batik process, students designed their very own pieces of fabric and dyed them with an adapted version of the Batik dyeing process.
