10.1 Thomas Paine Renovation Update
Scot Wachter with IGW Architecture gave an update on the Thomas Paine Expansion
Renovation Project. The bid process has been completed and construction bids significantly
exceeded the cost estimates previously shared with the Board. COVID has impacted the cost of construction materials. The base bid was almost 25 percent over what was estimated.
The project costs were discussed and alternate projects were reviewed.
- Total project cost with alternates (see image below) was estimated at $15,972,565 and the lowest bid came in at $19,368,373.
- The total project cost with no alternates was estimated at $15,972,565 and the lowest bid came in at $17,819.120 (see second image below).

Action Items
12.5 Thomas Paine Elementary Renovation Bid
The Director of Facilities Services will request approval to award the bid to Broeren Russo Builders, Inc. in the amount of their base bid proposal of $14,700,000, plus any alternates.
Base Bid APPROVED along with alternates 1-7 (unanimous "yes" vote)
