A Message to our Bears...
Primary Bears,
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. Thank you for your support of our schools.
Over Thanksgiving break our 300 hallway will receive a new roof. This will be a welcomed upgrade!
Enjoy the time off and we will see you back on Monday, November 27.
Sincerely,
Shelley Keck
Principal
New Limits on Ketchup!
School Limits Condiments
When it comes to ketchup, mustard, mayo, and other condiments there's now a limit on how much students can get with their lunches at school. The Child Nutrition Department is capping students at one to two packets per child, depending upon the meal they purchase. This is at all campuses.
Why? The Child Nutrition Director says there's "little or no nutritional value" and there's a state mandate to regulate sugar and sodium.
In order to comply with the Texas Department of Agriculture's mandate, the schools have removed the self-serve condiments from the cafeteria and placed them on the serving lines instead.
Students must get their packets the first time through the line. We can no longer send them back if they forget and we can't hand extras out. We aren't being mean, we just are complying with government mandates.
Library Corner
Book Fair:
Thanks so much to everyone who supported our Book Fair! It was a great success! Parents, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Administrators, and Teachers ~ we appreciate you stopping in!
Proceeds will be used to purchase books and materials for our Library. We also use funds to purchase books for Classroom Libraries and some FUN STEAM sets! It was wonderful getting to visit with community members and see families SUPPORT LITERACY!
Schlitterbahn Waves of Pages:
Kindergarten - Second Grade Students are invited to participate in Schlitterbahn Water Park in New Braunfels Waves of Pages Reading Incentive Program.
Bright blue notes were sent home in student folders with details. Forms are due back to the Library by January 18th. Parents must total minutes read and sign the forms in order for Schlitterbahn to consider entries for a FREE TICKET to the water park. EXCITING! Classes with the most student participation will win a great prize from the Library and teachers with 8 or more students participating will be awarded a free ticket too! So FUN! Thanks for helping us celebrate reading!
HAVE FUN READING, EVERYONE!
