Sharpen Literacy

Literacy opportunities are everywhere! The PaTTAN organization has collected high-quality, vetted resources for your child(ren) for independent exploration. Many of these resources are self-directed and can provide children with a safe and comfortable online experience. The goal of this video is to extend the efforts of your school district through the lens of reading, writing, speaking, and listening. It is our hope that these resources will expand the literacy experiences for you and your child(ren).

The National Center on Improving Literacy (NCIL) is a partnership among literacy experts, university researchers, and technical assistance providers, with funding from the United States Department of Education. Their Mission is to increase access to, and use of, evidence-based approaches to screen, identify, and teach students with literacy-related disabilities, including dyslexia.

These resources are regularly updated to support families, students, and educators during COVID-19. These supports are provided at no cost via the Bureau of Special Education, Pennsylvania Department of Education.

This collection of web-based language and literacy resources was compiled and curated by University of Florida Literacy Institute faculty and graduate students. Resources are divided by age including birth through pre-k, grades K-3, 4-6, and 7-12.
