This Week's Note From Mr. Evan Chelman, Principal
Dear Hill-Roberts Families,
Today, students' report cards were posted in ASPEN. All parents/guardians should have received an email with directions for how to login and view the report cards. Remember, report cards are a tool. It is recommended that you praise, praise, praise when it comes to this document. For many students, it is difficult to understand a standards-based report card. This tool gives families a sense of where a student is in regard to where they are "expected" to be on the last day of the school year. After finding something to celebrate, perhaps a discussion about one takeway you have? Make a goal with your student about effort, homework, or advocating for help, maybe. If you have any questions about how to login please reach out to our main office. If you have any questions about something you read on the document, please reach out to your child's teacher.
Be well,
Evan

BOOK FAIR
The spring book fair was a success! We earned more than 5,000 Scholastic Dollars for books for the school. Thank you so much to everyone who volunteered, including Christine Taylor, who made the awesome “Husky-mobile” photo prop. Groovy class pictures are available at https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1hYvcb8W9k7EZqyNQ8b1sfJ6z0Gc0jwOG?usp=share_link . Please note that eWallets are fair-specific, so if your student has a balance from this (or a previous) fair, you will be able to use it in your Scholastic account to either shop online or fund a future eWallet.
Keep spreading peace, love, and books!
YEARBOOK
The yearbook won’t be available until the last few weeks of school, but you can order yours NOW at the link below! You can also order and pay by check or cash by returning the flyer that went home last week!
**4th Grade Families! Please don’t buy a book for your student(s). Each 4th Grader will receive a yearbook from the PTO as a “Congratulations and Best of Luck in Middle School” gift.**

Someone Special Dance
The kids voted last month and overwhelmingly chose the theme “My VIP & Me.” (think Hollywood, red carpet, glam!)
Flyers with ticket purchase information and Volunteer Sign-up will be going home with students next week.
Let's talk Box Tops!
An easy way for yourself, your family, and your friends to help raise money for the PTO! Just download the app and scan your grocery receipts. If you've purchased any participating products you'll earn credit. It's that easy! And right now is a great time to start because there are some great bonus offers available.
