Weekly Update
We hope that you were able to unplug last week during our April Vacation. Recognizing that families are dealing with more than ever right now, I just want to relay that our school is here to support you during this time. We will continue to provide educational opportunities, social connections, and food service for all our students. The lending survey for devices has closed but if you need a device, let me know and we will get you one. Please know we are trying to not overwhelm families with too much while ensuring our students are able to continue their learning and stay academically engaged. Striking this balance is going to require your feedback. Once we have implemented our current plan for a few weeks, we will be reaching out to get your input and make adjustments if needed. You're constant support is very much appreciated as we all navigate this together.
This week, students will continue with the two online platforms, Freckle and Lexia, combined with choice reading and the Daily Special Blog. Please refer to our learning menus HERE. Additionally this week, students are able to access our integrated arts (music, PE, library, tech, art) teachers via office hours for socialization and sharing of ideas and projects. Please click HERE for the weekly office hours schedule. (Note: for privacy reasons this document requires your child's MRPS student Google account login.) If students are logged in to their accounts, they can access directly from the Daily Special Blog starting tomorrow.
While for some the above may feel like a lot, we have also received feedback that some families are hoping for more educational opportunities as they create their daily schedules. Each grade has developed a shared document that will be updated consistently with these optional extended learning opportunities. This will be posted on our remote learning webpage tomorrow (Tuesday, April 28th).
