June 5 - Summer School Begins
Summer ACT Prep
This would be recommended for any current students in grades 9-11 who are interested in taking strengthening their ACT score for college scholarships/entrance purposes.
Sessions are available on a drop-in basis and are taught in a test-prep style, so if students miss a class they are just missing out on extra practice instead of a lesson. Summer school is Monday-Thursday during the month of June. Students are provided with free practice materials, answer keys, and explanations for continued practice at home.
If you are interested in summer ACT prep - please sign up using the link below. This form does not commit you to attend, once the schedule has been finalized we will contact you for confirmation of enrollment.
Wednesday - Community Service/Class Competitions
Our students will be all over town Trading Post, Fire Department, Stegge Lake, and many more. There are so many projects and we are excited to give back to a community that gives so much to us.
PHS Class Competitions are a series of tournaments designed to highlight the talents of all of our students.
Volleyball - Kickball - Dodgeball - Trivia - Mario Kart - Musical Chairs
Even the spectators can win points for showing up and showing out! We are looking forward to a fun day, our closing ceremonies will begin at 3:00 pm, please feel free to join us in the PHS Gym for some wild, crazy, PHS spirit!

Final Exams - Exemptions
As we approach the end of the year, I want to remind our high school families about the final exam exemption policy. This policy applies only to exams given by PHS classes, not classes provided by for dual credit or concurrent credit through a community college.
SEMESTER TEST AND FINAL EXAMS EXEMPTION POLICY: In order to encourage excellence in both grades and attendance, the following policy has been adopted.
*ALL students will take a First Semester Final for each individual class.
*HS Students would be exempt from the Second Semester Final if meeting the following criteria:
An “A” grade in the class with no more than six (6) excused absences during that class for the school year with no unexcused absences. Absences according to the perfect attendance policy do not count toward the (3) absences.
A “B” grade in the class with no more than four (4) excused absences during that class for the school year with no unexcused absences. Absences according to the perfect attendance policy do not count toward the three (3) absences.
A “C” grade in the class with no more than two (2) excused absences with no unexcused absences; a student with a “C” grade in the class with perfect attendance for the entire school year may be exempt from the second-semester test.
Each class will be separate and students must meet the criteria for each class to be exempt from the test in that class. Students who qualify for the exemption may choose to take the test if it could raise their grades in the class. Students who have perfect attendance for the entire school year may be exempt from the second-semester test. Perfect attendance is not a qualified exemption for the first-semester test. Two FNS assignments or any OSS days will nullify the exemption. Good citizenship is an equal part of this incentive program.
