Dear Parents and Families,

It's hard to believe that the school year has come to a close! As we reflect on the year, there have been a number of fun and memorable activities that took place throughout the last marking period.

The amount of growth we've seen from both the 5th and 6th grade class has been AMAZING! They've grown physically, mentally, and emotionally as they've excelled both in and out of the classroom. We wish all of our 6th graders the best of luck as they move onto the middle school, while we're excited to see what's in store for our 5th graders, as they become the leaders of the building in September.

I hope everyone has a relaxing, fun, and enjoyable summer with their families and friends. Make sure to open up some books and do a little bit of reading, while brushing up on some of your math facts! To our 6th graders, remember, you always have a home at Steinhauer and we will always be #SteinhauerProud of you all! I look forward to seeing everyone in September!

On Thursday, June 15th, our 6th graders took the stage and were officially promoted to 7th grade! Top Student, Most Improved, Students of the Month, and Perfect Attendance were some of the awards students were recognized for. It was a great evening to celebrate the class's accomplishments. Special shoutout to Chloe for receiving the Principal's Award of Excellence! Best of luck to everyone in 7th grade!

Leading up to the Autism Flag Football Game, a lot of talk was dished out between students and staff regarding who was going to win. At the end of the game, the score was tied 84 - 84! It was a great night for the community seeing students and staff battle it out for a great cause, donating the proceeds to Autism Speaks!

Our 5th graders took their class trip to the Franklin Institute where they learned about the namesake, Benjamin Franklin, and the invention of electricity. In addition, students got a chance to watch a show in the planetarium, make their way through the human heart, while also testing their athletic skills through the vertical jump, reflex station, and the all out sprint. It was a great time for all!

Our 6th graders had an amazing day spent at the YMCA of the Pines for the annual 6th grade camping trip. While there, students had the opportunity to swim in the lake, kayak, complete a ropes obstacle course, practice their archery skills, and more. To finish the trip, we took a hayride across the campground, while also enjoying some campfire s'mores!

For our annual Blue and Gold Day, the competition was fierce! Each homeroom was designated as either the Blue team or Gold team. Teams competed in Tug of War, Battleship, Sponge Relays, Cup Stacking, and more determining who was the dominant homeroom. It was a fun-filled day, where students enjoyed each other's company and coming together as teams!

Mrs. Torchia, Mrs. Underwood, and Mrs. Roberts led our Battle of the Books team in the annual Burlington County competition. Our students represented themselves, families, and Steinhauer gracefully and finished in 5th place! We look forward to next year's competition, as we're hoping to build on this year's results to make it into the top 3!

For one of the last incentives of the year, students traded in their Proud tickets for a chance to win an ice cream treat raffle! Students enjoyed the visit from Mr. Softee and sharing a special treat with their friends!

To reward all of our Students of the Month this year, they received a special field trip to Hot Wheelz skating rink! Students had a fun afternoon skating, dancing, and playing games with their friends to celebrate their exemplary work this year!

As the year comes to a close, we are excited to recognize our March, April, and May Students of the Month! Up until the very end of the school year, these students continued to be role models in our building. Congratulations and keep making us #SteinhauerProud!
