This week's story, Everyone Can Learn To Ride A Bicycle by Chris Raschka ties into our PBIS theme of the month, Grit. This is the story of a little girl learning how to ride a bicycle and how she never gives up and persevered.

For many of us we know that meditation or mindfulness practices might help us feel more calm and grounded, but finding the time for them is hard. Instead of feeling like you need to sit quietly for half an hour to practice mindfulness, try integrating short moments of pause throughout your day. That could look like taking a minute before you get out of bed in the morning to scan your body and see how you feel, closing your eyes and focusing on how your food tastes for a few bites when you start a meal, or pausing between activities to take a few deep breaths and pay attention to what you can see, hear, smell, and feel. Small moments can add up to more calm and presence throughout the day.

Hatherly's Summer Reading Book Fair will be the week of June 6th in the library. There will be a Family Night on Tuesday, June 7th from 5:30pm-7pm. There are 3 ways that you can help:

• 2-3 parent volunteers for each class
• 2-3 parent volunteers for Family Night
• Book Runners - will stop by Buttonwoods at the assigned time and pick up any books that are waiting to be brought to Hatherly.

The online portal for ordering school kits for the 2022-2023 school year does not go live until this Wednesday, May 25th. The office will send out an email with the link and code to purchase your school kit, if you wish. The list of school supply items are on the website if you wish to purchase school supplies on your own.
