Anti-Bullying Awareness Week: Wildcats Choose Peace!
Dear BES Families,
We are ready for FALL! This week we are celebrating Anti-Bullying Awareness Week with a special assembly on Wednesday in our morning meeting. It is important to understand that all kids learn by experiences - we all learned by making the mistake of saying or doing something insensitive or mean at one time. This is the age and stage of when kids say things without really understanding the significance of what they are saying - they often hear it from others or other sources and then want to see if they can get the same attention or reaction. I always say that kids try things on to see if they like the reaction. If it works for them, the behavior continues. It is our job as teachers and parents to educate and help them learn better ways! The 7 Mindsets is an excellent way to foster that learning. We also always say that when we know better, we do better! Once we know our children understand the power of their words and actions, we can hold them accountable. It truly takes a village and we have the best village at BES and in Louisburg!
Don't forget to get signed up for Parent Teacher Conferences! There's a video below in the Broadmoor Breakdown to help if you are having a hard time with the scheduling.
I also want to celebrate our ATTENDANCE for SEPTEMBER!!! WOW! Thank you for making school attendance a priority and supporting your amazing learners! Great job, BES!
Let's have a GREAT week!

October Mindset:
Everything Is Possible
Expanding Student Expectations
The Everything Is Possible Mindset teaches that we are all capable of living extraordinary lives.
Students learn that everything which exists today was once just an idea until someone believed
it was possible and took the actions to make it into reality. This is true with our lives as well – they become, in many ways, whatever we expect them to be.
Throughout the lessons for this mindset, we work with students to help them understand the
incredible promise of their lives, and to envision extraordinary happiness, meaning and success
on their own terms. We seek to instill the belief that their goals are possible, and to foster the courage, discipline and persistence to act on achieving their dreams.

The 4 critical components of Everything Is Possible:
1) Dream Big – People who achieve the most in life realize that the greatest limitations are
those they place on themselves. This applies to success in school, business, fitness, the quality
of our relationships, and our impact on the lives of others. Dreaming big is about raising our
expectations for our lives, because when we do, the future becomes bigger and brighter.
2) Embrace Creativity – The only time we are creating new things in life is when we’re being
imaginative and innovative. If we want new experiences and things we’ve never had, we must
do things we’ve never done. This could be reading a book to acquire new knowledge, debating
a topic with a friend, or trying a new activity. Life can only change and expand through creative
action!
3) Think Positive – People with a brighter outlook on life are not only happier, but also
accomplish more. We must believe there is more for us in life, expect good things from others,
and find the positives in all situations. These simple acts make us happier in the moment, and
the future becomes infinitely brighter.
4) Act and Adjust – We must act if we want to get results. It is important to plan, but only if the
plans drive us to action; if we do not act, nothing will change. The greatest obstacle to taking
action is fear of failure, but the most successful people in the world don’t see failure, only
feedback. Simply learn from mistakes and move forward, because this is the only way to make
our dreams into reality. Act on them, and be prepared to adjust.
Coach Whiting's Corner!
Our school is getting ready to kick off the American Heart Association’s Kids Heart Challenge (KHC)! This year, we are working to help all our students, staff and families learn the lifesaving skill of Hands-Only CPR. It’s easy to learn and even our youngest students can play a part by calling 911 and finding a trusted adult. And, as always, we will all be learning how to take care of our hearts and minds, while helping raise funds for kids with special hearts!
Join us by signing up today! Download the AHA Schools app or visit http://www2.heart.org/goto/broadmoor.
Get started on FINN’S MISSION where you and your family can help create a community of lifesavers by learning Hands-Only CPR!
WHY Kids Heart Challenge? Phil is WHY.... Broadmoor Wildcats are WHY!
Phil isn’t a heart survivor… he saved a life
because he completed Finn’s Mission.

Blessings In A Backpack
Louisburg USD #416 participates in a local Blessings in a Backpack program. The program is designed to provide non-perishable food every Friday to children that would benefit from supplemental nourishment over the weekend. The program runs throughout the school year and there is no cost to participate.
If you would like your child/children to participate and receive a BIB bag, please click the link below and complete the brief form for EACH child in your household that you would like to sign up. Distribution will begin the week following labor day and will be handled in a discreet & caring manner. Each bag will include: 2 breakfast items, 1 piece of fruit, a snack item and 2 entrée items.
BES Wish List
We have been asked about a schoolwide wish list. We put some hot ticket items, some incentive items, and more items that our teachers would love to have to help students in fun, meaningful ways. We will add to it throughout the year. Thank you for your support and generosity!
BES Garden Club!
Our garden club met a couple of weeks ago and planted our prairie! It is doing well with all the rain and heat over the last few weeks. We are in need of a few items if you have anything left from your gardens this fall! Please call or email Mrs. Apple if you can donate. Thank you!
