Exciting News for Mountainburg Schools!
From Dr. Atwell, Superintendent of Schools:
It is with honor and excitement that I share with you the great news received today from Commissioner Key; Mountainburg Schools has been selected for Cohort Six of the Professional Learning Communities Project!
We are four years into our journey of a shared mission to ensure all learn at high levels. We’ve worked very hard and made much progress in acceptance, process, and growth, and have demonstrated a district-wide commitment to the professional learning community process. Our district was selected, 1 out of 15 across the state, through a rigorous application review process.
The Project will provide our teachers and administrators with the professional development and coaching support that our teachers, students, and community deserve. For the next three years, we will participate in leadership development, training, and onsite coaching in process, literacy, math, assessments, and intervention systems. We will also receive training resources and event registrations.
There is an abundance of evidence in the education community that the best way to ensure high levels of learning for all is to function as a Professional Learning Community at work. The level of commitment the Arkansas Department of Education and our State Legislators hold for this work is evident.
This is an incredible, well-deserved, and earned opportunity for our schools. Principals and Teachers, thank you for all your work so far to bring us to the table. I look forward to our journey together as we achieve high levels of learning for all.
