Parsons Family Update 9/29/22
A Message From the Principal
Good afternoon Parsons Families,
We are officially stepping into the second month of school next week and we couldn't be more excited about what October will bring here to Parsons. We will be kicking off our Anti-Bullying month with a focus on KINDNESS and HAPPINESS. It is so important to make sure all of our learners feel safe and supported at school. We will be specifically looking to recognize our pirate students who exemplify those two traits over the next month.
October also brings several great events! We will be kicking off our Watch D.O.G.S. program next week on Wednesday, October 5th from 5:30-6:30pm in the cafeteria with pizza and pop for all dads (grandpas, uncles, etc... are welcome too) and students who are signed up to attend. If you are unfamiliar with this program it stands for Dads of Great Students. This program is one of the nation’s largest and most respected school-based, family, and community engagement, organizations in the country. The Watch DOGS program is a wonderful volunteer program that brings dads, grandpas, and male family figures into the schools! Students see male role models who value school and volunteers get to spend time in our schools working with kids, helping with arrival and dismissal, playing on the playground, helping out at lunch, and just serving as a positive presence in our schools - it's a win-win-win program!
We will also be hosting our Fun Run this month on October 20th. If you haven't already signed up your student, you can do so by visiting this link: GETMOVINFUNDHUB.COM and using the code: 5d5d751a69dec
In addition, we will be having our annual Trunk or Treat event on Tuesday, October 25 from 6:00-7:30pm in the Parson's parking lot. As a reminder, trunk setup will begin at 5pm and donations of candy are being accepted in the office.

Elementary Student Expectations at Carlson Sporting Events
In Gibraltar, we take great pride in our school spirit and fan participation. Elementary students are encouraged to attend sporting events. All non-high school students must be accompanied by an adult for admission to varsity football games. The adult accompanying the school student(s) is responsible for their behavior and well-being throughout the duration of the sporting event.
We also expect our students to demonstrate appropriate behavior while attending these various events. Hanging out under the bleachers engaged in horseplay, hanging on the poles that support the bleachers, and throwing things off the back of the stadium are all behaviors we have unfortunately seen our younger fans engaged in. Not only are these dangerous, but they also do not display the Marauder Pride that we build our reputation on and are known for. Please know that we want and encourage our young Marauders to cheer on the CHS football teams, but we must ensure that the environments on both sides of the stadium are positive and safe and that our youngest Marauder fans are well supervised.
