We. Did. It!
Despite all of the challenges, all of the safety guidelines, changes in schedules, and unknowns, together we were able to pull off an amazing year for our students. I am so grateful to our entire community and the unwavering commitment to children, that is a shared mindset for all in Medway.
Our district leadership team worked tirelessly to lead the way when many communities remained closed. I am thankful to our faculty and staff who learned a whole new way to teach students, with not a ton of lead time! They stretched their thinking, tried new things, failed forward and excelled in ways we never imagined. Our parent community has supported us every step of the way. Thank you for all of the words of encouragement, partnership, trust, and faith that we could get the job done. And finally, and certainly not least, our students.... they have shown tremendous resiliency. This year has offered them life lessons that can't be found in a curriculum. Although their experience was different, I am confident, they got the very best they could this year.
I hope you all take time to rest, relax, and have fun over the summer. Make some great memories with those you haven't had the pleasure to spend time with over these last 16 months. We will see you in August, if not before.
Thank you again for a tremendous year!
Best,
Amy McDonald, Principal

Summer Reading & Reading at the Medway Public Library
We hope that all of our Medway students will take time this summer to get lost in a good book! Reading is not only a wonderful escape from our familiar, everyday lives, it’s also a wonderful way to support continued learning and growth. Through reading, we have the opportunity to “travel” to places we have never been, imagine worlds beyond our own, “meet” different characters, and learn about/take on varied and diverse perspectives.
We hope that families find these lists, produced by the Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the American Library Association, supportive of your child(ren)’s summer reading adventures!
Grade 6-8 Summer Reading
Technology Update
The Technology Department would like to inform parents of our plans for student issued devices for the summer and upcoming school year.
Please note that our plans are as follows:
In-Person Students
PK-4 will be requested to return the device and charger to the classroom no later than June 14th.
5th -11th will be instructed to retain the device over the summer and return in the fall with the unit in good working order.
Student Devices are subject to the AUP and Chromebook Care & Use Guide.
Students without insurance may incur repair charges if returned damaged.
Virtual Students
PK-4 are requested to return the device to the IT office, door 8 of the Middle school June 18th through the 25th, between the hours of 8:00 and 4:00pm
5th-11th are instructed to retain the device for use next year in person with the unit in good working order.
Student Devices are subject to the AUP and Chromebook Care & Use Guide.
Students without insurance may incur repair charges if returned damaged.
Virtual Students wishing to return devices (MCAS loaners) earlier than June 18, may do so at the above listed address and time.
Fall Plans
Incoming 6th grade students should expect to receive a new device in the Fall.
Incoming 5th Grade Students will receive their 4th grade unit returned to them in the fall. Delivered to their classroom.
All pk-4th grade classrooms will receive a compliment of cart based chromebooks for use in the classroom. The prior year dedicated student device will be transferred to the new classroom and students instructed to use the same dedicated device. This helps ensure safety/cleanliness.
Insurance and Repairs
Insurance - MPS will be offering insurance for all devices in late July early August, with a deadline of 9/15. Insurance is optional but recommended for student devices in 5th through 12th grade, in the event of accidental damage from transporting devices to and from school. We do not recommend insurance for student devices in PK - 4th grade as the device will remain in school and less likely to incur accidental damage. We will offer insurance to ALL grades and families.
Repairs - Any device in need of repair, after the last day of school, families are instructed to contact support@medwayschools.org as soon as possible. We will arrange for the device to be dropped off at our middle school office, repaired, and returned. Prior to the last day of school students should arrange repairs through our current process; dropping the device at the designated building offices.
Any questions, please email support@medwayschools.org
Thank you
