The More You Know...
- HAC - This is the Home Access Center. Students are learning about HAC because they login to this system to access and check their grades. They should be doing this every Monday with their advisors. Students can use their Chromebooks and login at home too - so if you ever want to see your students CURRENT grades, ask them to login for you. If you want your own parent login, we can help you get one during Parent-Teacher conferences in just a few weeks.
- Hero Hour - This is every day from 9-9:35am. It is a flexible time of the day to accomplish many things such as the following:
- Monday - Students have ADVISORY and they go to their advisors room during Hero Hour. Students will check their grades, get any papers that need to go home to parents, get organized for the week, sign up for Prime Time classes and do some team building/character building. This is kind of like the student's "home room".
- Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday - Students have PRIME TIME. PrimeTime is when every teacher in the building is offering either extensions (for students that have mastered standards and need to be pushed) OR remediation (for students that need extra help on mastering a standard or learning target). Students might get selected by teachers for either extensions or remediation. If students are not selected by teachers, then they can choose a session. All of these sessions are based on essential standards and current learning targets.
- Wednesday - On Wednesday, we do not have Hero Hour in our schedule. Students go straight from 1st to 2nd block, which helps us get to all classes on the early-release days.
Students welcomed first responders and thanked them.

Free Car Wash
Saturday, Sept. 24th

8am - 5pm (or up until 1,000 free washes are provided)
HMS Band students will be working from 11am-2pm at the location near Har-Ber Meadows.
The Springdale Bands are thanking the Springdale community for their tremendous support by offering 1,000 free car washes this day.
Donations are welcome in two ways:
1. Donations made at the car wash will be split among all Springdale Bands.
2. Donations given to an HMS Band student will go directly to the HMS Band program. Link to donate online. Checks can be made to "HMS Band."
Proceeds help our band students with financial need meet their needs so that they can follow their dreams of learning how to play a musical instrument.
It will also help our band program purchase 1 or 2 expensive instruments that will be used for more than 40 years. It will also help fund any field trips and fun events for our band this school year.
