Grades

Quarter 1 ends on Oct. 14th

Semester grades are reported on transcripts and calculated into GPA's. Q1 is 40%; Q2 is 40% and Final Exam is 20% of the S1 grade.

Parents can access grades at anytime via PowerSchool. Please contact the HHS office if you need help setting up your PowerSchool account.

If your student is struggling they should contact their teacher during homeroom for additional support. If you are interested in hiring a tutor please contact a school counselor for our updated list.

Metro Construction Career Expo

Learn more about potential for a career in the construction trades. Materials to be shared include wage and fringe benefit packages for varying trade careers and how you can start preparing for a future in the construction trades.

FAFSA Available Now

FAFSA- The Free Application for Federal Student Aid is open and available now. www.studentaid.gov
The FAFSA requires students and parents to each complete a portion.
The earlier you complete your FAFSA the earlier you will get award letters from the colleges regarding grants, loans and work study. This info can help you make your college decision. Listing a college on your FAFSA does not mean you have applied there. Be sure to complete each School's application as well.
Students in the Class of 2023 must complete the FAFSA or a non-participation form.

College and Career planning

Juniors and Seniors should be looking at potential college and career plans for life after high school. Information and resources can be found on our website as well as in google classrooms.

Juniors and Seniors can utilize 2 college and career days like field trips to visit and learn more. They must get these visits pre-approved by their school counselors. School counselors will be meeting with juniors later this month.

NCAA DI or DII Eligibility

Students that wish to participate in college athletics at an NCAA Division I or II school need to register with the eligibility center. There is a $100 fee. Fee waivers are available for students on free/reduced lunch. See your school counselor for more info.

Transcripts for NCAA can be requested through your parchment account.

Students interested in taking a National ACT test can sign up and find out information about test dates and locations online at http://actstudent.org/start

Many colleges are continuing to be test optional- please research admission and scholarship requirements before signing up and paying the test fees.
