Dear Thacher Families:
I want to send a huge thank you out to Peter Tarsi and the high school's theater department who performed their children's play, Planet of the Perfectly Awful People, for all of our students this afternoon. The play follows a girl named Annie whose spaceship heading to Venus is thrown off course to the planet Mean-us. There, she meets three of the planet’s awful people, who are grouchy and grumpy all the time. Over the course of her time there, she and another traveler named Zebulon, teach the people of Mean-us that it’s much better to be nice to each other than to be mean. The script is full of silly jokes and zany antics.
As a reminder, we only have school on Monday and Tuesday next week and are then off for a mini-break for Thanksgiving, Wednesday - Friday. With a short week next week, I will not be doing a newsletter and will pick it up again the following week. Families who requested at-home covid tests will receive them Monday. Students will bring them home in their backpacks.
Lastly, we have found that it helps to transition back from a break by easing back into school with what we refer to as "Cozy Days." Please see the flyer below for more information.
I hope you all enjoy the time away with your family.
Sincerely,
Frank W. Rich
Principal

This Week in Health Class
Students have been learning about confidence and self-affirmation statements. We are creating an environment where we all think, and act in a positive manner to help ourselves and our classmates succeed. We all went around the room saying positive “I AM” statements as well as “I like” and “You are” statements about our classmates. It’s amazing how something so little can crack the biggest smile on some students' faces when something nice is said about them. We read a story called “I am Me” to also make a connection.
Our Insight and Project Success classrooms have continued to show growth in some of our dances, our movement matching games, our class stretching and have begun going on a walking health scavenger hunt!
