Sync the GLOBE calendar

We would like to announce that GLOBE will be offering a one week language camp this summer to qualifying students currently in Kindergarten through 5th grade. It will be a one week camp offered three times: June 13 to 17, June 20 to 24, and June 27 to July 1.

GLOBE will be using ESSER (Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund) money to fund this program. Parents and guardians of students who are invited to join the camp will receive notification via email with instructions detailing how to reserve their spot.

Chinese / Lunar New Year

We will be holding events over the coming week to celebrate the Chinese / Lunar New Year. Look out for photos of these events on Facebook and Instagram.

Please be reminded of The GLOBE Academy uniform policies, which can be found in detail in our Family Handbook here. We are resetting expectations for dress code at both campuses over the coming weeks, and may speak directly with students, reach out to parents, and/or ask for parents to bring in alternative clothing as needed.

Upper Campus

8th grade Trip Information

We are now collecting information about T-Shirt sizes, housing requests, and medical information. Please complete this form by January 31, 2022. Reach out to Mrs. Limor (jlimor@theglobeacademy.net) with any questions.

Will your student return next August for the 2022-2023 school year? The completion of the 'Intent to Return' form will be due Friday, February 4, 2022. Current students do not need to enter the lottery each year, or register with DeKalb County School Choice. Official re-enrollment documents will be pushed out over the summer months.

New siblings intending to enroll at GLOBE must enter into the lottery. If you have siblings to apply for the lottery, information is included in the survey. Click here to view more details about re-enrollment and siblings.

Girls are in 2nd place with a record of 5-2 and likely to play at home in first round of playoffs.

Boys are in 3rd place with a record of 5-2 and will likely play on the road, but in the tournament.

Information about the meeting was sent home in a welcome packet with students, and an email was sent out with the meeting link.

Boys Practice: Wednesday, January 26 at Leslie Beach Tennis Courts, 4pm to 6pm.

Girls Practice: Thursday January 27 at Leslie Beach Tennis Courts, 4pm to 6pm.

Girls soccer tryouts

Tryouts for the girls soccer team are scheduled for February 1 and 2, from 4pm to 6pm at Silverbacks Field. Students must have a physical on file in order to participate.

Matthews Cafeteria is hosting Spirit Night on Thursday, February 3. Stop by for dinner between 5pm and 8pm. Don’t forget to mention GLOBE and Matthews Cafeteria will donate a portion of the proceeds to our school.

We Need You!

PTCC is seeking a co-lead for our communications efforts. This role will give you a chance to liaise between the board of directors and the Globe community. If you have two hours a week to spare, good writing skills, and you want to get involved, we invite you to join ComCoor.

2022 GLOBE Annual Auction

We are now accepting donations for the The GLOBE Academy's PTCC Annual Spring Auction. This year's auction will be a two-part event beginning with a silent auction (April 29), open and free for all through mobile bidding, and culminating with an in-person indoor/outdoor event (April 30) at Wild Heaven Brewery in Avondale Estates. The auction benefits all PTCC activities throughout the year including teacher appreciation, classroom resources, cultural events, International Fest, campus updates, Science Night and more. In order to make this possible, we need donations! Know of someone with a wonderful vacation home? Have a favorite boutique or fitness studio in the area? No donation is too big or small.

We also need volunteers to make the auction a success. Email auction@theglobeacademy.net to volunteer to serve on the auction committee.

Vaccination Clinic

Thank you to everyone who attended our Vaccination Clinic on Saturday. 61 vaccines were administered to the community! Our next clinic will be at Upper Campus on February 19.

Weekly COVID-19 testing

Viral Solutions will be back on campus again on Thursday, January 27 to provide all GLOBE students and staff with access to free rapid antigen testing. Since the start of spring semester, over 1500 tests have been administered and 41 chains of transmission have been interrupted.

If you signed your student up for any of the past clinics this semester, you do not need to fill out the consent form again; they will be tested each week. If you have not filled out the consent form, but wish for your child to access weekly COVID-19 testing, please sign up here.

Vaccination survey

We would like to determine how many of our students are fully vaccinated. This will allow us to determine which students may not have to quarantine if they are exposed to SARS-CoV-2. Additionally, understanding the vaccination coverage in our community will help us to make informed decisions about sporting events and meal time locations. Our mandatory mask mandate, quarantine and isolation policies, and other prevention guidelines are outlined in the updated COVID-19 Health and Safety Playbook (version 2).
