It was June 23, it was officially summer break for high school students in Bronx, NY. But to Jamal, Malik, and Jasmine it was the start of a long summer vacation. Jamal was a 16 year old boy, he was 5’7” and confused. Jamal was described as “the boy with a large scar” under his left eye. He got that scar from a car accident he was in when he was 7 in which took both of his parents’ lives. Jamal currently lives with his grandmother who’s been diagonesed with lung cancer. Malik, Jamal’s bestfriend is also 16 years old, he’s 6’0”, and he’s very smart and is the captain of the basketball team at Saint Claire’s high school. Malik and Jamal have been best friends since they were 9 years old. Now Jasmine, Jamal’s girlfriend had just graduated high school and was planning on going to Syracuse College next spring. Jasmine was vey outspoken and an intelligent young lady. She was 17 years old, 5’0”, with long chocolate wavy hair. Jasmine graduated a year ahead of her class because she was skipped a grade during her 5th grade year.
