AVID: Accepting Applications!
AVID is a program and elective class that helps to prepare students who fall in the “academic middle” who are also willing and determined to take the leap into more rigorous college-prep courses with the academic support and mentorship provided in the AVID Elective course. Oftentimes, AVID students are first-generation college students who show the determination and desire to improve their high school resume. The course teaches students academic success strategies such as organization, time management, study skills, collaborative and communicative skills, critical reading and writing, and inquiry. Any rising 9th, 10th, or 11th grade student may apply.
Is your student interested in taking AVID for next year (23-24)? If so, we are currently accepting applications (link below)! Spots are limited so be sure to apply ASAP! If you have any questions, please contact the AVID Coordinator at barry.blair@lcps.org.

Making Math Count!
Students will take their Math SOL on Tuesday May 9, 2023. We have been working very hard reviewing material and preparing for this very important assessment. Students must pass a math SOL in high school to receive the verified credit needed for graduation.
Students, please use this time of preparation wisely. Students can practice SOL type questions and review questions from previously administered SOLs by visiting Jefferson Lab. This website is a wonderful tool to assist students in preparing for this assessment. We KNOW our students will do well on their assessments.
Let's finish the year strong.
