Mondo Ponds and Beaver Brook Trails
short, family friendly walks in Milford, CT
Mondo Ponds
How long is the walk?
The total trail length is 1.1 miles, and you can make that even shorter by doing just the main loop. The trail map is HERE.Trail notes:
This was a quick, pretty walk! The trail hugs the pond the whole way around, with lots of places to go right down to the bank if you want to watch for wildlife or toss pebbles into the water.
We parked on the grounds of JFK Elementary (access during non-school hours only) and then enjoyed the school playground before wrapping up our adventure. The parking lot for Beaver Brook is about a half mile from here and you can easily do both in one outing.
Beaver Brook Boardwalk
About one mile. A trail map is HERE. The map does not show the boardwalk, but it has been rebuilt and completes this loop!
Trail notes:
This is an easy, flat loop that could be done with a stroller and seems accessible for all ages. It goes around a fresh water marsh with lots of opportunities to watch for wildlife. We went to the right, ending with the boardwalk before completing the loop to the car.
The parking lot for this hike is about a half mile from the lot for Mondo Ponds at John F Kennedy Elementary School. We did both in one outing!
