November 2023

From the Principal
We are off to a wonderful start for the 23/24 school year. I am very thankful for the effort our students, staff, and parents have put into the start of this school year. We appreciate everyone working together to start our school year off strong. Because of this teamwork our students, teachers, and staff members are moving at a good pace in the classrooms and on campus.
Last month ended with a traditional CTE event - our Character Parade. With over 400 visitors, the event ran smoothly thanks to the patience and flexibility of our parents, guardians, and caregivers as well as the entire CTE staff. The parade was a fitting end to Red Ribbon Week. It was great to see everyone participating in the activities throughout the event. Thank you to Mrs. Thomas for organizing the events and thanks to our staff for participating.
November has two special events - the return of CTE’s Hoedown and our annual Veteran’s Day program. We look forward to celebrating with our CTE community at our “Hoedown Throw Down” on Thursday, November 2 from 5 PM to 7 PM. Our PTO has been working very hard planning a fun, family friendly event for everyone to attend. You will also find out who KISSES THE PIG at the end of the night! We can not wait to see you there.
On Friday, November 10th, we will honor our veterans during our annual Veteran’s Day Program. The program is our way of paying our deepest respects to the men and women who have selflessly served in our country’s armed forces. Please join us on campus honoring and acknowledging our Veteran’s unwavering commitment to our nation.
On behalf of the CTE Staff, I would like to wish all our Mustang Families a wonderful Thanksgiving Break! I, as well as our team of educators, are extremely thankful for the opportunity to serve and lead our students. Thanksgiving is a time for family and I hope that you and your family have an enjoyable holiday.
Sincerely,
Mr. Rick Kogelschatz -Principal

New School App
From work, to home, to school, our phones are a key tool to navigate and communicate throughout
the day. The custom-built School Board of Highlands County app makes it easy to stay up to date
with district news and events.
Now, School Board of Highlands County is making it easier to stay in touch with teachers and class
information from that same app. Using the School Board of Highlands County app you can easily
switch from district and school information to Rooms, where you can see your student's classes
and engage directly with teachers. Rooms can be accessed via the web and from our district app,
which is available for free and can be used from both Apple and Android phones. To access
Rooms, you will need to create a login and password.
- One app for everything School Board of Highlands County
- Easily see class specific announcements
- Message teachers directly
Download the app, and look for your personalized invitation to begin using the "Rooms" feature in our app in early November.
