3rd Grade Reading with Mrs. Deegan-Smith
Hello 3rd Graders! Please look at each ELA Course below to help you prepare for the week of October 1-5.
Literature: You will complete OLS Unit 4 Lessons 1-5. You will need the thin white "Language Arts Assessment" book 1 for Friday's assessment. All other work will be completed in the OLS.
Writing: You will complete OLS Unit 4 Lesson 5,6, 7, 8, 9 and Language Arts Activity Book pages WS 35-45.
Vocabulary: No materials are required. You will complete OLS Unit 4 Lessons 1-5.
Spelling: No materials are required. You will complete OLS Unit 7 Lessons 1-5.
Reading Class Connect: We will be discovering how to read and use information from a procedural text.
Teacher Graded Assignments: Please make sure all assignments are complete.
I begin updating the gradebook at 1:00 on Friday afternoons. Please check the Gradebook on Monday to see if you have any 'm's. If you have an 'e', that means the assignment is excused and you do NOT need to do it.
Quarter 1 Grades:
Literature: Units 1, 2, 3, 4 & TGAs 1, 2, 3
Writing: Units 2, 3 4
Vocabulary: Units 1, 2, 3, 4 (test every other Friday)

Come One, Come All!
It's time to present your Life Cycle Projects to the class! I am putting the slides of all of your amazing work together this afternoon. Please remember to submit by 12:00pm today!
When you are not presenting, you will be taking notes on fun/interesting things you learned. This will be your golden exit ticket for the week.
As you complete your OLS lessons this week, please remember to take notes on your Unit 2 KWL chart. We reviewed this in class on Tuesday so if you are a little foggy, you can open the recording and refresh your memory.
I can't wait to see your presentations this week!
3rd Grade Social Studies with Mrs. Lipscomb
Hello 3rd graders, this week in social studies we are continuing with unit 2. Please complete the following lesson:
- Lesson 6 – Paying for Community Services
During class on Friday, we talking about how our local governments are financed. You will be able to identify the importance of civic responsibility, including paying taxes. Be sure to check the grade book to see if you have any missing assignments (M’s). I’ll see you in class on Friday!

Every week you will check the grade level newsletter to see which Music Studio lessons to complete. Just open Unit 1, Lesson 1 in the OLS and click the link to take you to Music Studio! (This is why everything in the OLS for Music EXCEPT for Unit 1, Lesson 1 has been marked skipped.) :)

3rd Grade Health/PE/Art with Ms. Buchanan
Happy Friday!!! I know yall have been busy working hard in your lessons this week. In art next week we will continue learning about "Renaissance". In Health you will start learning "How to get along with others". In PE remember to stay active at least 30 minutes each day. Have fun!!!.
