Rowdy's Rare ODDDyssey Benefit
Rowdy Robinson is a sweet, very special, 5 year old that lives in our community. Rowdy was born with a GJA1 gene mutation that is causing an unknown type of hypomyelinating leukodystrophy and has progressed to global cerebral atrophy (Rowdy's brain is disappearing). This has caused Rowdy to be in a wheelchair, nonverbal, have hard to-treat- epilepsy, spastic paraparesis, dysautonomia, hearing loss, etc. Rowdy has struggled with his health since an early age, but it wasn't until shortly after Rowdy's 1st birthday that he had a seizure that lasted over an hour that prompted doctors to listen to his parents' concerns.
Rowdy lives with and is being cared for by his mom, Jessica, and his 7 year old sister, Paisley. Rowdy's father, Jesse, tragically passed away in March 2022.
Despite Rowdy's struggles, he always has a smile on his face! He loves music, especially country. Rowdy loves being outside, going to school, being around family and friends, swimming, flags, and staying busy. Rowdy brings so much joy to everyone's lives and lights up any room he enters.
If you are unable to enter the event to help Rowdy and his family, donations are welcome.

Message from Mayor Diane Houser
Hello Citizens of Gooding,
Summer has arrived. I hope everyone is staying cool in these high temperatures that we’ve been having. It’s nice to have warm weather though. The gardens are really growing now that we have this heat. Now we can start putting up our harvests.
The City of Gooding had the grand opening for our new Fitness Court in our West Park. We had a nice turn out. Once again, thank you to all the sponsors. We have a great community that works together. It is nice to have an area of the park that is dedicated for grownups to workout. We hope you enjoy it.
I have a concern that I would like to ask the community members to help with. We seem to have a group of about 15 kids, ages 9 to 15, that are roaming our streets, alley ways and parks at night with most activity occurring between 1 am and 5 am. There has been vandalism done in different areas and mischief in general. Some of these kids have been identified by our Police Department and parents made aware of the ongoing process. As a reminder, the City does have a curfew of 11 pm to 5 am for persons under 18 years old, and all parks close at dark except the Skate Park which closes at 11 pm. I am asking our citizens to keep a watchful eye and ear out and if you see anything of concern, please call our police department dispatch at 208-324-1911 for the available officer. This is the non-emergency number. We appreciate you help in keeping our community safe.
The Gooding County Fair and Rodeo is just a few weeks away. They will have the parade and the carnival starting the fair on Wednesday night, August 16th. The parade will start at 5:30. I hope you all go out and support our county fair and have a great time. Don’t forget to have an elephant ear, or a corn dog, or whatever is your favorite treat at the fair. I personally would like to thank Don Gill, Jamie Lancaster and Amy Andrus for the great job they do each year. Don has made the Gooding Rodeo one of the best small rodeos in the state. Also, if you’re at the rodeo make sure you smile for the camera as it will be televised around the country.
I would like to thank our city crew for all the work they have been doing around town. Our streets, water/sewer, parks and sanitation departments do a fantastic job for our town and citizens. If you see them out working please say thank you and let them know you appreciate their work. Also, a big thank you to the girls in the office. They do a great job keeping everything going in the city and answering all the questions you have.
Have a wonderful rest of the summer, be careful and stay safe.
Diane Houser, Mayor
