Edlio Webpage
Welcome to Edlio
Edlio webpages helps Teachers to update their webpage from any device. Parents and students have the option to subscribe to the teacher’s site and receive push notifications. In this session, teachers will create a page, update their profile, add assignments to their class calendar, build picture or video galleries, and more. Teachers will be amazed at how easy and fast this communication process can be.
Session Objectives:
- Login the Edlio site
- Change your profile picture
- Create your landing page
- Create a link to an external web page
- Upload a file attachment
- Review personal calendar options in Edlio
- Discuss the subscription feature and benefits
Success Criteria
- I can log in to Edlio from school or away.
- I can create new content to a blank page & calendar.
- I can link to exterior content.
- I can customize my website.
- I understand how to utilize this as a communication tool.
Bell Work
- Open Chrome and navigate to res.rcschools.net
- Find your webpage using the Directory (below the scroller)
- Right click on top of the tab and choose "Duplicate"
- Scroll to the bottom of the webpage and click on Login link
- Use the "Login with Office 365" link on this page
Task 1: Login and Update Profile Picture
- Login with Office 365 from the admin login page https://rcschools-res.edlioadmin.com/apps/login/
- Select Account- Profile- My Photo- pencil
- Select from your computer- browse and locate your faculty picture in teacher applications
- NOTE: The Microsoft OneDrive is NOT linked with your school and work account so this is not a valid option
- Select Crop and Save
Task 2: Create a Blank Page
- Select the menu at the top left (pancake) or dashboard
- Select the Pages option
- Select Add a Blank Page
- Title the Page- Welcome
- Review Side Panel Alignment- do not select full width on the first page- select right aligned
- Select Add Content- Add a short bio or welcome message
- SAVE
Task 3: View your Page
- Go to second tab opened and view your page
- Select About Us- Staff Directory and view your page
- Notice the navigation bar on the right
Task 4: Upload a File
- Go to the tab with your editing page
- Select Files- "Upload Your Files"
- Do Not select Microsoft OneDrive
- Navigate to a syllabus, class rules, or other class document
- Rename the file once it is uploaded to the page
- SAVE
- Review your page in the live page tab “Refresh”
- Delete the file and SAVE
Task 5: Add Page and Link to External Site
- Search content specific websites as a resource (ex. Newsela, Playposit, Quizlet)
- Select Pages from the dashboard
- Add Page- "Link to another page"
- Title the link
- Add the link to the web page
- Select Open in New Tab
- Save
- Check the page in the second tab “Refresh”
Task 6: Review Calendar
- Examine how the calendar works
- Select Plan from the dashboard
- Plan- Calendar- Add Event
- Name the Event- add directions- add a web link- add an attachment
- SAVE
- Check the page in the second tab “Refresh”
- Notice how it appears in the navigation tab on the right
- Notice the calendar views
Task 7: Create a blank page with content
- Select the menu at the top left (pancake) or dashboard
- Select the Pages option
- Select Add a Blank Page
- Title the Page- Mr./Ms./Mrs./Dr. ******'s Class
- Add Class rules, procedures, syllabus, Remind, etc.
- SAVE
- View Live Page in second tab- select “refresh”
Task 8: Create a links page
- Select the menu at the top left (pancake) or dashboard
- Select the Pages option
- Select Add Link Page
- Add links
- SAVE
- View Live Page in second tab- select “refersh”
Task 9: Edit an existing page
- Select the menu at the top left (pancake) or dashboard
- Select the Pages option
- Reorder the pages by select the dots on the left and dragging and dropping
- View Live Page in second tab- select “refresh”
- Select a page and Edit
- SAVE
- View
Task 10: Posting to your web page
Posts are the quickest and easiest way to update your webpage
- Can be made from your mobile device
- When you post, subscribers receive updates
- These posts will appear on your home page
- Go to your Dashboard and Choose "Posts"
- You have several choices
Text: Good for reminders and updates
Link: Sharing a webpage or link to an online program or OneNote notebook
Photo: Upload photos (be sure that students' parents signed off that their pics and/or work can be photographed; only list student first names, not full names)
File: Perfect for posting assignments, study guides, articles, etc.
Video: Post a video tutorial or a YouTube link
- Can be made from your mobile device
