Thank you to all families and staff who attended the PTO meeting on Monday night – it was great to see so many new faces! Our guest speaker Ethel Reeves, LCS Director of Equity and Community Relations, followed up to share this link with anyone interested regarding the EdEquityVA plan: https://youtu.be/F6wQFp0UQTw
Our LMS PTO leadership did not get to meet you in-person or collect your contact information since our Back to School events looked different this year, but we are eager to connect with you...even if only via email or Zoom at the moment. Please fill out the short form below for PTO communications and volunteer opportunities!
Thank you to all families and staff who participated in our Papa John’s fundraiser last night! Our next restaurant night will be at Jersey Mike’s Night on Tuesday, November 10 from 5-8 p.m.

SCA "Day of Service" Fundraiser
SCA has put together a fundraiser selling LMS masks, as well as a few other types, to be able to have an LMS Day of Service in the spring, alongside a celebration for the students. Below is the link to the online webstore with all the different options available to purchase. We hope that you will contribute to this awesome fundraiser. We are looking forward to having this fun day for our students while giving back to our community.

Athletics Department
Basketball for both boys and girls has started! If a student would like to participate, he/she will need a current physical AND must complete Covid Training which can be found on the LMS website under athletics and then forms. There are other forms that need to be completed but those are the two I MUST have before your student/athlete can participate.
To try and clear up what is going on, we are following the VHSL guidelines for return to play. What this means essentially in a short version is that our teams have to start in Phase 2 and have to perform 12 practices in this phase before we can move into Phase 2 Enhanced. Once in Phase 2 Enhanced the teams must do 12 practices before the teams can move into Phase 3. Once in phase 3 we again will need to do at least 12 practices before we can move into Phase 4 which no one is in yet and won't be until the Governor moves the entire state to this Phase. Actual "tryouts" will occur in Phase 4, however, at this time the coaches are doing a lot of different things during practices to get a good idea of who everyone is and how they can handle the fitness aspects of the game and also some ball-handling skills. The actual "tryout" process, if we as a State have moved to Phase 4, will only be two to three days. This date now is set for December 7th with games starting December 14th.
Unfortunately, there will be no bus transportation to and from practices at this time so we will need parents to drop off and pick up. If you are in Cohort A or B or if you are remote full time you may still come to all practices that are scheduled.
