Monday, April 27
Reading
*You can use books at your house, EPIC, or on Raz-Kids
Read a book.
*If you could be one of the characters from the story, which one would you be? Why did you choose that character?
Writing
Prompt:
Write your favorite thing about each person in your family.
(Ex: My brother is a good artist. My mom is funny.)
Phonics and Sight Words
Look at the blend chart. Choose one blend, and write 3 words that start with that blend. (Ex: “sp_” spot, spray, space)
-Write a sentence with each of the words.
Math

Science
Take a walk with your family. Make a list of all the plants you see! Try to draw them and label them. Find out their names if you don’t know!
Tuesday, April 28
Reading
Read a NON-FICTION book.
*Choose a topic you don’t know much about. Write down 2 facts you didn’t know before.
Writing
Prompt:
Would you rather have bear paws for hands, or duck feet? Give 2 reasons why.
Phonics & Sight Words
Choose 5 sight words from the list you are practicing. Write a sentence with each of your sight words.
Math
Bar Graphs: Choose a different material than you used yesterday. Make another bar graph like Ms. Tinker showed you yesterday. Collect materials, sort them, count them, and then graph them. What had the most? The least?
Science
Look at the list you made yesterday on your walk. Choose one of the plants, flowers, or trees you saw. See if you can find out what that plant looks like in all 4 seasons. See example.
Wednesday, April 29
Reading
Read a book.
*Talk with someone about why you think the author wrote that book. Did they want to teach something? Make people laugh?
Writing
Prompt:
If someone said you could have ANY animal for a pet, what would you choose? Why?
Phonics & Sight Words
Pick up a book that you have been reading. Set a timer for 2 minutes, and see how many words with blends you can find in the book. Read the words to someone.
Math
Bar Graphs:
Look at the graph a class made called, Our Favorite Restaurants. Which restaurant did the MOST people like? What restaurant did the LEAST people like? Were there any that were EQUAL?
Science
Watch this video about what plants need to survive. Look at the plants in and around your yard. Do you think they are getting all the things they need to survive?
Thursday, April 30
Reading
Read a NON-FICTION book.
*Find 1 new vocabulary word in the book, and write it down. Have someone help you find out what it means.
Writing
Prompt:
Write down 5 facts that you know about birds. Find a book about birds to learn more.
Phonics & Sight Words
Set a timer for 1 minute. Write as many sight words as you can before the time runs out. Do it 1 more time, and see if you can write more words the second time!
Math
Bar Graphs:
Look at the information collected about Favorite Fruits.
Take that information and make a bar graph.
Look at the example of a flower. Draw your own flower, with all the plant parts. Label each part like the example. You can make the petals look any way you want them to. Paint or color your plant when you are done.
