Dear Sward Families,

Time really does fly, can you believe that family conferences are already next week? Below, you will find the instructions on how to register to reserve your time slot within the Skyward Family Access system. If you need assistance or have any questions, please call the Sward main office at (708)423-7820. We encourage each family to register for a conference with their child's classroom teacher. If you would like to meet with other teachers that your child sees throughout the day, such as PE, Encore, or Interventions, please make sure to sign up for a time slot with them as well.

Please keep in mind that these meetings are scheduled back to back so it is important for the meetings to start and end on time, punctuality is key to ensure that you are getting the allocated time with your child's teacher and allowing others to have their time as well. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in helping make conferences run smoothy for all.

Tomorrow- Wednesday, October 4- is a Districtwide Late Start Day. There are no clubs before school tomorrow since all of the staff will be involved in meetings. School begins for students tomorrow at 9:30 a.m.

We are so proud of our Sward Student Council! Over the past few weeks, student council has been dedicated to raising awareness about the Maui fires and the impact it has had on their communities. Our amazing student council wanted to be a part of the solution and visited classrooms, hung awareness posters in the hallways, and worked hard on their donation campaign. Please congratulation our student council for their service efforts in raising enough money to provide 1,304 meals to the Maui Food Bank...Way to Go Eagles!!! #Kindnessrocks #compassion

Congratulations to Leonardo Briano Davila for being nominated and chosen as our Superintendent's Student of the Week. Dr. Enderle paid a visit to Miss Rayyan's 3rd grade class today to celebrate the perseverance that Leo has shown. Dr. Enderle spent time in the classroom talking to students about how important perseverance is and discussed how never giving up can really pay off big!

Sward is hosting a Family Wellness Night on Tuesday, October 10th from 6:00 - 7:45. Come join us for a feel good evening full of wellness stations and resources. Please click here fro more information.

We need volunteers to help run the Swagle store each month. Each month the kids will get to trade-in their hard earned Eagle Feathers and buy things from the Swaggle Shop. We need lots of parents to help us with this. The kids work so hard to earn their feathers and they love to see parents when they shop at the store. It's that time of year again... time to enjoy taffy apples! Yum! Click here for a copy of the PTA Affy Tapple sale form. Mark your calendars: Order forms are due Tuesday, October 10th (no late orders will be accepted). Pick up will be Thursday, October 19th.

The PTA will be selling mini muffins after school this Friday, October 6th. Please click here for more information on how you and your child can enjoy our a sweet treat this Friday.

Sward is collecting pop tabs for Ronald McDonald House charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana. Ronald McDonald House receives all funds for recycling the pop tabs. Last year Sward donated 42 pounds of pop tabs!! This donation was used to provide care for families of children with complex medical needs. Way to go Sward!!

If you have pop tabs, please send them to school with your child.

Family Conferences will be held over a series of two days:

• Oct 12th from 5:00pm - 8:00pm
• Oct 13th from 11:30am - 6:30pm

Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123 Family Conferences will be completely scheduled online via Skyward and families will have the opportunity to select either an in-person or phone conference.

• K-5 families will have the opportunity to schedule conferences with their student's grade-level teacher, encore staff, and specialists.
• 6-8 families will have the opportunity to schedule conferences with their student's advisory teacher, encore staff, and specialists.

Beginning on September 28th at 10:00 am and Ending on October 9th at 11:59 pm families can log into Skyward Family Access and pick their family conference time and date. Below you will find a series of resources to answer any questions you may have about Skyward Family Access and as always, you can contact your school office if you have any additional questions about scheduling or a family conference:

Attendance and punctuality are important. The bell rings for the students to enter the building at 8:25 a.m. and school begins promptly at 8:30 a.m. Please click HERE for attendance procedures.

Safety is always our Priority at District 123.
