Africa's elevation ranges from below sea level, to over 10,000 feet. Madagascar is off the East coast of Africa.
Political Boundaries
Africa is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the West, the Indian Ocean to the East, Europe, and Asia to the North.
Climate
Africa has 8 climate zones; Highlands, Marine west coast, Humid subtropical, Mediterranean, Arid, Semiarid, Tropical wet and dry, and Tropical wet. Africa is mostly Arid.
Vegetation
There are 8 vegetation zones in Africa; Highlands, Desert, Desert scrub, Temperate grassland, Tropical grassland, Chaparral, Coniferous forest, Broadleaf evergreen forest. Africa is mostly Tropical grassland.
Population Density
Africa's population ranges from under 2 people per square mile to over 250. The majority of Africa is 2-25 people per square mile.

The land in Africa is used for Subsistence and Commercial farming, Nomadic herding, Livestock raising, Commercial fishing, Forestry, Trade and manufacturing, and little or no activity.
