Be Responsible, Be Respectful, Be Safe, Try Your Best

February 5, 2023
Delayed Newsletter
The Bridgewater Bear Tracks is delayed this week as I was attending a conference last week. The MN Elementary Principals' Winter Institute is held annually the first week of February, and this is a wonderful opportunity for principals to connect and learn together. I am always seeking ways to improve the work that I do, and it is great to learn from others. This conference is inspirational for me, and I always return with renewed energy to serve students, staff and families!

Black History Month

We will introduce students to a variety of black people that have made and/or are making a significant difference to our country and the role that they play in our lives today.

Kindess Retreat
The Kindness Retreat for fourth-grade has been re-scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 22nd. In the meantime, we can practice kindness every day!! I doesn't cost anything to treat others kindly every day!
Sleep
Sleep is so important for all of us, and this includes children. Children need 9-11 hours of sleep each night, and adults need at 8-9 hours each night. Children who are sleep deprived struggle during the day and have behaviors that mimic that of ADHD. Continuous sleep deprivation takes a toll on children and their ability to learn. I know we have some students who are awake well after midnight; this does not allow for enough sleep when they have to be at school at 8:20. Please help your child get enough sleep at night so they have a clear mind to learn during the day.
