MST Weekly Update
February 16, 2024

Good afternoon to all of our MST family members.
Today concluded the Valentine's Spirit week that saw students dressing in clothes from different decades, dressing as teachers, wearing red or pink, dressing fancy, or matching their favorite person. The week wraps up with a Valentine's dance tonight from 5:00-8:00.
This coming week we will have two great opportunities here at MST for our students. On Wednesday, we will be hosting a college fair. On Thursday, we will have experts here at to help 2024 graduates complete the FAFSA for. This form is now a graduation requirement in the State of NH. There is detailed information about both below.
A reminder that Monday is President's Day and there is no school in Manchester.
Food Truck Challenge
This week, our Health Professions CTE students completed the Food Truck Challenge. The students competed this project as part of a Nutrition Unit in the class. They all worked really hard and put a lot of effort into their trucks. They also had to come up with 2 Nutritious Meals on their menu. All 3 blocks voted for their 2 favorite trucks. Also voting were students in the Criminal Justice classes. It was great to see how hard they worked and how much fun they had. They were all very creative.
Graduation Is Coming Quickly
Four months from now, the Class of 2024 will have graduated from MST...if they are successful in completing their work. Every year, we have seniors who fall behind and struggle to catch up in time to attend the graduation ceremony. In order to attend the graduation ceremony, a student must have successfully completed all of their graduation requirements. If they do not, they will have the opportunity to finish over the summer and will receive a diploma when done.
Seniors who ae behind now must get caught up soon. The upcoming vacation is a great time to work on getting caught up. Teachers are available after school to help students who need assistance. A requirement for keeping late arrival or early release is that a student is up to date in all classes required for graduation. The privilege is being revoked from students until they are back on track. This is not meant as a punishment, we want all of our potential graduates at the ceremony on June 15th and will do everything that it takes to get them there. They have to want it and have to get the work done, however.
2024-25 School Calendar
This school year still has about four months left to complete, but this week the Board of School Commitee approved the school calendar for the 2024-25 school year. The calendar is attached. The 2024-25 school year will begin on Wednesday September 4th. A copy of the approved calendar is below.
