Mr. Posick's weekly email

On the second Wednesday of the month, pretty much all year long, Mr. Budisch and I have assemblies with our students. It's a chance to celebrate students and staff, talk about character traits, and, at the end of the year, review expectations. On Wednesday, May 8th, the staff was invited to the final assembly and our main topic was empathy. Here is the link to the presentation I shared with the students and staff. Thanks to Izzy and Makena for sharing information about the Environmental Club, too!

In keeping with tradition, the 7th grade parents will host the 8th grade reception on Thursday, June 6th following the promotion ceremony. All 7th grade families are asked to bring two dozen cookies or bars for this event. The desserts must be dropped off at the Intermediate School office no later than 4:00PM on June 6th.

We need a 7th grade volunteer parent to oversee the reception as well as volunteers to help set up, serve, and clean up. Please contact the school office (262) 538-1130 if you're interested and available. A "how to do" manual is available to help with this event.

• Parent informational meeting is Thursday, May 23rd at 6PM
• Auditions are September 11th, 12th, and 13th
• Performances are November 21st, 22nd, and 23rd

Hello Future Campers!

If you are looking for a fun way to explore theater with your friends this summer, this is the camp for you! Throughout the 2 weeks of Merton Theater Company Camp, students will experience all aspects of musical theater. Campers will learn songs, pick up choreography, exercise their acting skills, and participate in backstage activities such as prop creation. Any student that will be in 4th-8th grade for the 2019/20 school year is encouraged to register for theater camp!

Merton School is excited to welcome an all-new Camp Invention® program, Supercharged, (July 29 – Aug. 2) where children transform their wild imaginations into epic creations. As part of Summer School the cost of the program is $40 for the week. Campers in grades K-6 will code robots and use collaboration and creative problem solving during hands-on, STEM activities. We are also looking for Counselors in Training (7th & 8th graders) to participate in our program. Register by calling Camp Invention directly at (800) 968-4332. This is a great week each summer! Arrowhead High School's leadership group, SLAM (Students Leaving A Mark), is hosting an incoming freshman dance on Friday, May 17th from 7-9PM in the South Campus Gym. Tickets are for sale starting the week of May 13th at the South Campus front office and/or at the doors of the dance on Friday night. More information is in the flyer below.
