Happy Holidays!

I am not sending homework or Friday folders this week. Please enjoy quality time with family and friends. Make sure your child continues to read at home and practice math facts (subtraction, multiplication, and division). Enjoy!

Ugly Sweater Fun!

Last week the students worked together to design and create ugly Christmas sweaters. This week I had the pleasure of wearing these festive creations!

Division

This week we started introducing the topic of division. We are working hard on understanding the relationship between multiplication and division. In order to do so, we spent time this week breaking things into groups, practicing fact families, and playing a variety of games.

Class Spelling Bee

On Thursday we held our class spelling bee. All of the kids did a fabulous job, but our class winner was Julius. Kamryn will be our alternate. Julius will be participating in the school spelling bee in January. We are so proud of everyone who competed!

Wrapping Up Animal Adaptations

This week we spent time reading, researching, and discussing extinct, endangered, and threatened animals. We realized many of these animals are in danger due to human causes. It was a powerful realization!

3M Wizards

On Wednesday afternoon we had the pleasure of learning about matter and density. The presentation and experiments were provided by scientists at 3M. It was an engaging experience and allowed us to see science concepts in action.

Student Senate Representatives

On Thursday we held student senate elections. We had five people run and it was almost a five-way tie. We are very proud of each and every one of our candidates. Once the results were tallied, our class elected Reed and Emily to represent us.
