There were a number of exciting events happening at Governor Winslow School this week! Our kindergarteners did an outstanding job performing songs that highlighted their first year at GWS. Our kindergarten families filled the PA Room as we shared the GWS School song together and wished Mr. Gallagher a very happy retirement. There was not a dry eye in the crowd as we honored and appreciated this outstanding educator. Our school community is so grateful for his 33 years of service to children at GWS. There were field trips and spirit days before we ended our week with our 5th Grade Farewell. Congratulations to our 5th grade students and their families for moving up, on, and beyond! We thank you for sharing your elementary years with us and wish you well in middle school. Thank you to all who contributed to the success of so many end-of-the-year activities.

HAPPY SUMMER VACATION!

Thank you to all of our GWS students and parents for a very successful year in the library! It's been a joy to witness the love of reading grow for many of our GWS kids!

In order to encourage our students to continue to read over the summer, we'd like to offer the students the opportunity to "drop by" and continue to check out books during the summer at the Governor Winslow School Library! Drop by sessions will take place on Tuesdays throughout the summer from 8:30 - 11:30am starting on June 27 through August 15th. Drop by sessions are suggested to be between 5 -15 minutes to browse for books, make selections, and check out books. Please feel free to email me with any questions. Lnapoli@mpsd.org

Today your child brought home their Bridges and Number Corner workbooks for math. During our first year with this program, some teachers chose to print and copy the pages, rather than tear them out of the book. Other teachers may have utilized the workbook time to pull small groups for support, or used various pages of the workbook depending on the needs of individuals in the class. For that reason, you may see pages that look like they were not completed. Please feel free to use any of the pages in the workbook as a review for your child over the summer.

Our lost and found is located adjacent to our front lobby, and it is overflowing with items. At the end of the school year, all remaining clothing will be donated to Community Christmas.
