What a crazy week of winter weather! I know it can be very difficult to make AMI days work, so a huge thanks for your flexibility and support. Our teachers tried to balance a reasonable amount of work to keep students learning while also allowing time for family and play. I bet most will appreciate it in May when we do not have to add days on to the school year.
We have a fun week coming up with Valentine's Day parties on Friday. We will also be having a paw point party this week for classes who have earned the required number of paw points. Classes earn paw points through great behavior in the hallways, cafeteria, specials, etc. We are adding in a new way to earn one- classes who have everyone present on time will earn 1 paw point for every day that happens! If there are students who are quarantined, we won't count that against the class. Please ensure your student is at school (unless fever or stomach issues) and there by 7:45 to help earn that point!
Also, the state has made a change with COVID protocols; there will be no more quarantines or test to stay, so schools are not contact tracing or identifying probable close contacts from school. If your child tests positive, there will continue to be the five day quarantine as long as symptoms are improving.
