Keeping the Crew up to Date! Volume 2 Issue 11- 11/5/23
Greetings Clipper Nation!
Due to a road closure impacting our buses, starting Monday, all buses serving our school will need to utilize the auditorium/awing parking lot both in the mornings and afternoons. If you have a student who is a car rider and you have been using the auditorium/awing parking lot, you may want to plan ahead and use the main drop off/pick up area at the front of the building.
On the 7th, grades for term/quarter, one will be posted by teachers, and grades will go live on the 14th. Now is an excellent time to make sure you have the Family Portal app on your phone. Directions on how to add it to an iPhone and Android are below in the newsletter. By using the portal, you can view grades, check attendance, and review student information for accuracy. This year, we will be providing students with a paper copy of their grades, and those will be handed out on the 15th. However, the app allows you to monitor grades throughout the term easily.
Any student planning to stay after school for clubs or tutoring Monday through Thursday needs to sign up for step-up.
It might be near the end of a term, but there is a lot of information in this newsletter. Please be sure to check out all the information below. That also includes the senior section, which has some updated information.
Parents and guardians of seniors. To stay current, check out the Senior section in the newsletter specifically for Seniors.

College Essay Support for Seniors:
We have good news for seniors who are working on their college essays! Mrs. Taylor and Ms. Cahall are ready to review your college essays and provide feedback starting on Monday, October 2 – Sunday, December 31.
Here’s how it works:
You will need to email either Mrs. Taylor or Ms. Cahall (both are JMB English teachers) letting them know you would like them to review your essay. They will add you in on the assignment on Google Classroom where all communication about your essay will occur. At that point, you will upload your essay, the writing prompt or question that you are responding to along with any questions or comments about the essay you have sent.
Contact information for Participating JMB Teachers:
Mrs. Chelsea Taylor: chtaylor@wcboe.org
Ms. Jennifer Cahall: jcahall@wcboe.org
Of course, if there is another teacher you would like to review your essays you are welcome to contact them, but Mrs. Taylor and Ms. Cahall are the teachers that are part of this project. They are looking forward to reading your essays and supporting you through this process!
