The Panther Post
Sept. 20th - 24th
Principal's Message
As the new restrictions were announced on Sept. 15th from the Alberta Government we have made the appropriate changes at Pine Grove Middle School. Our hope is to normalize our students lives the best we can while implementing all safety requirements.
Students will remain in grade cohorts for classes, lunches and breaks. Additionally, students are now required to wear masks in common spaces and when leaving their desks. Social distancing and hand sanitation is also encouraged throughout the school.
I'd like to thank those who took the time to send the positive messages my way after we unfortunately had to postpone our Meet The Teacher Night.
Our annual Walk-A-Thon will take place Friday, Sept. 24th. Students are encouraged to collect pledges which will be used to support Active Living activities. The funds raised help support those students who are unable to pay for extra curricular sports/clubs as well as field trips and school-wide events. This is our major fundraiser and it is our hope you will continue to show your support.

Violent Threat Risk Assessment - Virtual Information Session
Grande Yellowhead Public School Division (GYPSD) would like to invite you to a virtual information session on The West Yellowhead Community Violence Threat Risk Assessment (VTRA) Protocol. This will be an opportunity to deepen understanding of VTRA protocol and its use in schools with time for an informal Q&A. It is important to note that we will not be able to speak to or answer questions around specific VTRA cases.
