π The Weekly Buzz π
From Palmer River Elementary School
May 5, 2023
Dear Families,
This week all of our students enjoyed a special performance by Brett Outchcunis aka "OOCH." Brett utilized his love of entertaining, dance, music, and yo-yos to teach our students about bullying. If you'd like to learn more about "OOCH," please feel free to click here.
Our second graders were also treated to a storytelling presentation from the internationally acclaimed storyteller Mr. Len Cabral. Mr. Cabral enchanted the students and adults with several folktale stories. Before leaving, Mr. Cabral even donated one of his books to our school library. If you would like to learn more about Mr. Cabral, please feel free to click here.
A special thank you to our PTSA for making these event possible for our students!

Safety at Pick Up
This message is for parents/guardians who pick up at Palmer River River at the end of the day: the bus company has respectfully requested that children waiting with their parents for PRES car pick up to please stay out of the street. Children are welcome to play on the grass, or on the fields, but playing on the blacktop (or near the blacktop) creates a very unsafe situation for both cars and buses. Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe.

State Physical Requirements for the Health Office
Dear Parents/Guardians:
The State of Massachusetts (M.G.L. Ch. 71, sec. 57) requires students have physical examinations at intervals of three years. Massachusetts state law also requires physical exam forms for new students and for all students entering preschool, kindergarten, and fourth grade.
Please send a copy of your childβs most recent physical so Palmer River Elementary has compliance with medical documentation. This information may be sent in with your learner, faxed to 508.252.5110, or emailed to abellora@drregional.org.
Thank you to the families who have already forwarded their childβs exam to the Health Office.

π SUMMER READING π
Welcome to our school's summer reading program! We believe that reading is a fundamental part of education, and we want to encourage our students to continue their reading habits throughout the summer months. That's why we've curated a list of books for our students to choose from, so they can keep learning and growing even when school is out. We hope that our summer reading program will inspire a love of reading and help our students maintain their academic progress over the break. Happy reading!
