Oak Grove Spelling Bee
Congratulations to our 4th-8th grade spellers who qualified for the school spelling bee. Prior to the bee, qualifying students need to attend a pre-bee meeting. During this time, the rules will be read and explained and we will also conduct a practice round for students to get a "feel" for the bee. This will not be done the night of the bee, so students need to make sure to attend this meeting.
Pre-bee meeting: Thursday, January 11
What time: During your scheduled recess time
Where: Mrs. Evans's room (108 in the 6th grade hall)
What if I am absent from school that day?: It is the student's responsibility to see Mrs. Evans prior to the bee.
School spelling bee: Thursday, January 18
What time: 6:30 p.m. (all participating spellers need to check in by 6:15 p.m.)
Where: Junior High Learning Center
What if I am absent from school that day?: Participants must attend school the day of the bee. If they miss the full day, the alternate will spell in his/her place.
Who is welcome: Any family member, friend, or student at OGS who has an adult in attendance with them. Students are not allowed to be dropped off without an adult in attendance as staff will not be there to supervise students.
