Morris Elementary School
Week of January 8th
Hello Parents and Guardians,
I hope your new year is off to a fantastic start! As we settle back into the rhythm of school after the holiday break, teachers spent time reviewing and modeling the school wide expectations throughout various settings in the school building. Reinforcing consistent behavior expectations across all areas of the school promotes a positive school environment where students understand and follow expected behaviors. These strategies foster a supportive and encouraging learning environment. I encourage you to reinforce these expectations at home, this will solidify their importance in our students' lives.
IMPORTANT SAFETY CONCERN
With the return of school, I request your attention to a few crucial safety reminders for dismissal. These guidelines help maintain the order and safety for all students and staff.
- Arrival Time- Please refrain from arriving before 3:05 p.m. for the end of day car line. Arriving early causes congestion in the area and we are not able to maintain a quick flow of traffic. Cars backing up on West Street in either directions does not allow for the buses to enter the parking lot or allow for an easy entry and exit of the school building.
- Parking - I have been informed that cars are parking on the wrong side of the road to pick up their child. This too causes unnecessary congestion and is a safety hazard for those drivers who are simply trying to pass down or up West Street. Parking on the wrong side of the road is not allowed and the Lenox Police Department has been informed.
- Driveway Access- Please do not block the driveway. Last week our buses were unable to enter the parking lot due to cars blocking their path. If we ever have had a medical emergency or a safety emergency law enforcement or medical personnel would not be able to access the building due to all the congestion.
Your cooperation in adhering to these guidelines is highly appreciated and contributes significantly to the safety and efficiency of our end of day procedures. Thank you for your ongoing support and cooperation in making our school a safe and conducive environment for all our students. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to me.
