Primary Bears,
Our new gym floor is in! It is stunning! Thank you to each of you who supported our fundraiser. We have included some photos below.
Monday is MLK day, and WE HAVE SCHOOL. We have been told local daycares may be closed, so please make arrangements for your child if they normally ride a bus to a daycare afterschool. Let us know how your child will go home if it is changing on Monday.
Thank you for your support!
Sincerely,
Shelley Keck
Principal

Valentine's Day
Valentine’s Day is on Wednesday, Feb 14th. In the past, students have received many Valentine’s Day flowers, balloons, and large cookies. Valentine’s Day is a very special day for all of us; however, the many gifts sent to the school causes severe interruptions in our teaching and learning time. In addition, the transportation department will not allow balloons, glass vases, and/or large bouquets of flowers to be taken home on the bus. This becomes a safety issue. So, in order to not interrupt our teaching/learning time and/or create a safety concern on our buses, we are asking you to please refrain from sending Valentine’s Day gifts like these to school. Please celebrate Valentine’s Day at home with your children, as we will allow the classes time to celebrate here with each other in the classrooms. Thank you for your understanding.
Reading Everyday
Does your child read at home? Students who only read at school do not make the academic gains that their peers do who read each evening at home. If you need books for home, please reach out to your child's teacher, Mrs. Saulter, or our Intervention Team and we will help you out! Help your child make the year's worth of growth in reading by having them read each evening.
Attendance Matters
A few highlights:
-A student cannot miss more than 15 days a school year (excused or unexcused).
-You must send a note within 3 days of absence.
Library Corner
Schlitterbahn Waves of Pages:
Kindergarten - Second Grade Students are invited to participate in Schlitterbahn Water Park in New Braunfels Waves of Pages Reading Incentive Program.
Bright blue notes were sent home in student folders with details. Forms are due back to the Library by January 18th. Parents must total minutes read and sign the forms in order for Schlitterbahn to consider entries for a FREE TICKET to the water park. EXCITING! Classes with the most student participation will win a great prize from the Library and teachers with 8 or more students participating will be awarded a free ticket too! So FUN! Thanks for helping us celebrate reading!
HAVE FUN READING, EVERYONE!
