Mountain View Weekly Update
September 30
Announcements & Updates
- Per Board of Education policy 2430, students must maintain passing grades (minimum 63%) in all classes to participate in Interscholastic Sports. Grades will be checked on October 4, the midpoint of the Fall season, and those students who do not meet the criteria will be ineligible to participate in athletics until their academic performance improves.
- All Winter sports physicals (Basketball, Non-competitive Cheer) and related paperwork are due by Friday, October 28 to be cleared by Dr. Porter on November 7. Please refer to the Student Athlete Information page for instructions and links to all forms. Tryouts are scheduled to begin the week of November 14.
- Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:7C-6.6, school districts must, by October 1 of each year, provide parents specific information on State assessments or commercially developed standardized assessments that may be administered during the school year. Information about those assessments can be found on the district website HERE.
A note from Ms. Walsh
Happy Friday Mountain View! I hope everyone had a great week and is looking forward to the weekend ahead. Next week is the Week of Respect. The Week of Respect highlights the importance of social emotional learning, promotes a positive school climate, helps to provide students with a safe and supportive school environment and prevents harassment, intimidation, and bullying. Next week we will be promoting respect and a positive school climate by having a kindness challenge of the day, a respect-themed spirit week, and a fun-filled Advisory lesson. In order to get our students ready for the Week of Respect ask them how they show respect to the following: themselves, their parents/sibling(s), their teachers, their belongings, their school community, and their peers. Have a great weekend!
