News From The Director
Dear Parents,
I would like take this opportunity to express my never ending gratitude to all of you for supporting our ANIG Event. Whether you made a donation, attended the event, volunteered or bid on packages you all played such an important role in helping our school enhance the education of our students.
A BIG THANK YOU you goes out Kiley Weimer, who was our Chairperson for for ANIG! Kiley went above and beyond to help . Spending many hours attending meetings, getting donations and setting up for the event.
I had an opportunity to work with Co-Chairs Jennifer Harsh and Megan Swails behind the scenes to make a ANIG such an OUTSTANDING SUCCESS! These ladies started organizing this special evening many months ago with endless hours of making sure that nothing was left undone. My gratitude goes beyond words to both of them.
It is an both honor and a privilege to be a part of the St. Pius X School Community.

Letter From Our "A Night in Green " Co-Chairs
The A Night In Green committee is thrilled to announce that last Saturday's 10th annual auction gala brought in a record $113,000 for our Preschool-8th grade students! None of this is possible without our donors, sponsors, bidders, and volunteers from our entire community. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Portions of this money are already being put to use. A little over $18,000 of the funds raised will go directly to our Fund-a-Need chair lift project which got its start today. Another $2200 will be put toward next year's 8th grade Washington, D.C. trip costs thanks to donations and ticket sales of our Wine Pull Raffle and our $100 per family, A Night In Green volunteer credit.
The next project will put $10k towards the purchase of a new set of iPads and a charging cart for the newly renovated Innovation Lab, or SPX iLab.
With the inclusion of the preschool in the auction this year a portion of the revenue will be allocated to amazing projects for our preschool as well as K-8th. Over the next few months we will work with Mrs. Ruth at the K-8th "big school" and Mrs. Miller at the preschool to put other projects in motion to continue to build an even better educational environment for all our students.
Lastly, over the next few weeks the search will begin for A Night In Green's newest chairpersons. This would be an opportunity for anyone interested in steering the next few years of events to step forward, and the ability to shadow Jen Harsh and Meghan Swails for next year's event. If you are interested in sharing in some of the excitement of planning and executing St. Pius X School's largest fundraising effort, please reach out to us via email at anightingreen@yahoo.com.

The Importance Of Books in Early Childhood
Reading and storytelling with children promotes brain development, imagination, and develops language and emotional skills.
Early reading sparks creativity, curiosity and stimulates the imagination in young children. Often this leads to role playing as children grow. Having many books available for children to look at will help them also develop skills such as empathy and problem solving skills.
