November 2022 Newsletter
Happy Fall Sandpipers!
The weather is starting to cool off and leaves are changing colors, which means it's time to break out the sweaters, jackets, and hats. Our boys and girls go outside each day for p.e and recess so please make sure they are dressed appropriately for the chillier weather. It may be a good idea to put your child's name on the tag, just in case it gets misplaced and winds up in the lost and found.
We are getting excited super excited for our Sandpiper Boosterthon Fun Run! Thank you to all of our families who have already donated to support HNP. We have just about a week remaining for the Boosterthon Fundraiser to reach our goal of $25,000. As we are getting closer to the Fun Run Event Day on Friday, October 4th we would love to see all of our students registered. You can still register today at MYBOOSTER.COM
Times for the Fun Run on November 4th:

News from Mrs. Lancieri
It has been so great to see so many family and community members back into the building. We have the BEST volunteers assisting teachers with special activities. Our Boosterthon fundraiser has been very successful so far. The students are learning about national parks and preparing special projects to celebrate Veteran’s Day. Many fall field trips have taken place and the students have had so much fun. The winter holidays are just around the corner and I’m sure more fun activities are being planned. Be sure to check SeeSaw for each classroom’s holiday information and plans. Be sure to come by anytime to meet me or if you need to discuss something.
Have a great fall!

Music News from Mrs. Eddins
Hello Sandpiper Families!
Music classes are learning about the composer Johann Sebastian Bach. We are also celebrating fall by telling a story using the sounds of musical instruments. This application involves using what we have learned about body instruments, rhythm instruments, loud/soft sounds, long/short sounds and steady beat. Finally, ask your child about the musical pumpkin stew that they have created in time for Halloween!

Art News from Mr. Makar
November begins with a bang. The Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival will begin the second weekend of November at Bartram Park in Seville Square Pensacola. This year HNP will be showcasing 20 or our best artists from the first three months of school. The GGCAF is a premier art festival with over 100 local and traveling artists, live music, dance, performing arts, food vendors, many children’s art activities and of course our student art showcase that features student artists from all Santa Rosa and Escambia county schools. Students that will be in this show will have already had a parent letter going home with information. I encourage everyone to attend this festival with the amazing weather we have during this time of year. The event is Friday-Sunday November 4th, 5th & 6th but the student displays can only be viewed on Saturday and Sunday 10:00-4:00. I look forward to hopefully seeing some of you at the festival.
Artfully yours, Mr. Makar

Holley-Navarre Primary is a Title I School-What Does This Mean?
We qualify as a Title I School because our free/reduced lunch counts are currently over 40%. This identification is a big advantage to our school because we receive additional federal support to help meet the needs of our students. Title I places an emphasis on targeting students with academic needs and focuses resources where they can most benefit students. Title I also supports parent involvement activities and education. You can help us by completing a free and reduced lunch application at: https://www.myschoolapps.com/Application. This application needs to be completed each school year.
The Free Breakfast and Lunch grant will no longer be in effect for the 2022-2023 school-year. Please be sure to complete an application on-line or paper copies are available in the front office.
Holley-Navarre Primary also houses a Parent Involvement Center with resources for parents. This is located right outside the front office area. The Parent Resource Center has informational brochures, Title I information and literature for parents to support their children at home. Additionally, we have laptops and printers available for parents to complete surveys, registrations in FOCUS, Free/Reduced Lunch Applications, etc. For more information, please contact Mr. Balsavich or visit our website.
The Florida Department of Education has announced the release of the 2021-22 School, District and State Report Cards in the Know Your Schools Portal (http://knowyourschoolsfl.org). These report cards continue to serve as a valuable resource for parents, educators and stakeholders by offering transparency into how Florida’s districts and schools are doing with regard to student achievement and success.
The 2021-22 Florida Report Cards provide the 2021-22 performance data and additional education information and outcomes compared to prior years’ data in easy to understand formats, and a “Map and Compare Schools” tool that allows families to search and compare schools. School accountability data contained within these report cards will be updated, if applicable, following the conclusion of the appeals process. The department will continue to update information in these report cards throughout the year as new data become available.
