Parent Orientation

On Monday and Tuesday of this next week, we will be conducting Parent Orientation here at BES. Monday from 5:30-6:30 will be Kinder-2nd grades and Tuesday from 5:30-6:30 will be 3rd-5th grades.

All parents will start off in the cafeteria where our staff will be introduced and Mr. Wright will go over a few items. Parents will then be dismissed to the classrooms for orientation. There will be 2 sessions that each last about 20 minutes. This will give parents the opportunity to visit multiple grade levels on the same night if needed.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone next week.

Staffing Needs

As you may have noticed, schools across the state are struggling to find teachers. Even in our tight-knit community, we are not immune to this issue. As of right now, we are in need of a Kinder teacher and a 1st grade teacher. We are attempting to find highly qualified teachers to take over these positions and are exploring every avenue to get this done.

We have frequently experienced that word of mouth is our best way of finding people. We would appreciate it if you would let us know if you are aware of someone that is looking for a teaching job in one of these grade levels.

Again, we see this as a priority and will continue to do whatever is necessary to find the right people to join our family here at BES.

Dismissal

The forecast shows that the temperatures will finally be below 100 degrees next week. We are planning to return to our regular dismissal procedures starting Monday. Our PK will be outside by the door at the end of the building nearest 11th street (the door facing the circle drive). K-2nd will sit under the covered area in front of the main doors to the building. 3rd grade will gather by the flagpoles and 4th-5th grade will be behind the rock wall area.

Our goal is to get the students to you as quickly as possible. Please make sure that a teacher on duty for your child's grade level knows that they are leaving. We don't allow students to simply go find their parents without some kind of acknowledgement from the teacher.

Thank you for helping us keep the kids safe while we strive to efficiently dismiss all students.

Thank You Sign Gypsies

We want to thank Mrs. Ventimiglia from Sign Gypsies for the wonderful signs that were displayed outside of our cafeteria for Meet the Teacher. It was a favorite picture spot for families. We loved seeing the smiles that it put on the kids' faces.

Principal Chat

In an effort to provide a forum for parents to visit with Mr. Wright on various topics, the campus will be conducting Principal Chats periodically this school year. Each meeting will include sharing some pertinent information with parents and then provide parents with an opportunity to ask any questions that they might have. These meetings will start at 8:30 in the cafeteria and should last under an hour.

The first chat will be on Thursday at 8:30. We welcome any parents to attend these chats.

Dress Code - Hair

This is a reminder of what is stated in the district's Student-Parent Handbook about students' hair:

Hair must be clean, groomed and not cover the eyes. Unconventional colored,

multi-colored, spiked or Mohawk hair styles are not permitted. Campus administration will determine appropriate length if a certain style becomes a distraction. Extracurricular activities may have stricter standards. Boys hair should not extend below the collar.

While we are excited to have our students back on campus, we have also seem some hairstyles that don't meet the district standards. We appreciate parents helping to ensure that their child is meeting these expectations.
