Dear Families of Belle Elementary,

Welcome to Belle Elementary School! I am excited about the upcoming year and feel very fortunate to be at a school that has a reputation of providing a caring and high quality education to the students in our community.

Belle has a dedicated staff as well as parent volunteers that form the foundation for student success. I encourage you to get involved and volunteer in a classroom or other school program.

Parents play the most important role in their child’s education. As a parent you are your child’s first teacher, and you are their consistent teacher throughout their educational years. To help your child’s academic success it is important to be reading a minimum of 20 minutes a day, encouraging school attendance and reviewing graded assignments with your child. Please check for school correspondence from the school daily.

Keeping updated with your child’s school has never been easier using the Maries R-II App! You can find the free App in the App Store, it is titled Maries R-2 School District. This App will be used to keep you up to date with school activities and communication. The elementary school also post on the school Facebook page.

I encourage you to maintain an active role in your student’s education. A strong, communicating partnership between family and school during your child’s education is very important to their success. Should you have changes in phone, email, or address during the school year, please call and let the office know.

The first few supplies listed will be used for everyone in our classroom and do not have

to be labeled with your Child’s name:

*1 box of Facial Tissues

* 2 packages of paper plates (used to serve our daily snack)

Please label the following supplies with your Child’s name:

* 1 backpack

* 1 complete change of clothes that can be kept at school; Please place

these in a large zip lock bag and label the bag with your Child’s name.

* 1 reusable water bottle with a snap on or twist on lid, to keep it from

leaking inside a backpack. We’ll send these back home each day to be cleaned.

* 1 box of crayons (any brand name - does not have to be Crayola brand!)

* 1 package watercolor paints, and comes with a paint brush

* 1 school supply box

* For Children new to our program: one (1 - inch) three ring binder with a

clear plastic sleeve on the front, and a folder to place in the binder to hold notes going

from school to home. For Children returning to our program - we saved your binders

from last year!
