The Pecatonica Schools Music Department would like to express their gratitude for the money donated from the Sam Volkert Memoriam. $765 was donated and concert toms will be purchased in Sam’s memory. Mrs. Sneek's Pre-K classes enjoyed a week full of St. Patrick's Day activities! They were surprised to find that a tricky leprechaun visited our room and made a mess!! We didn't catch him, but he did leave us some coins.

At the end of March, all 5th and 8th grade students completed the Illinois Science Assessment in their science classes. This is a computer-based test that will be given in three parts to test student progress in science specifically aligning with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).

On April 27th, 2023 Pecatonica Middle School is having their annual Energy Fair, with a twist! This year we are highlighting many of the wonderful things we are doing at the Middle School. We are calling our event “Evening with the STARS” Stars stands for Science, Technology, Art and Reading. Along with the Energy Fair, 6th grade students will be participating in a literature Wax Museum, 5th graders are displaying their Pop-Bottle biography projects, 7th grade students will be running energy carnival games, and Student Council will be hosting face painting, and temporary tattoos! Fun for the whole family!

The event is from 5 - 7PM and Prairie Street Brewhouse “Sizz N Fizz” food truck will be here for anyone who wants to purchase SMASH burgers, and La Jarocha Tacos is scheduled to be here as well. Everyone is welcome to enjoy the event and support our students in their amazing achievements.

This is an award which recognizes the following outstanding qualities: leadership, a positive attitude toward learning, a desire for improvement, enthusiasm about school, being helpful to others, and involvement in extracurricular activities. Students are nominated for Student of the Month by one or more of the staff at Pecatonica High School. They may win this honor only once per year. Students are honored through announcements and receive a certificate.

On April 12, all freshman, sophomores, and juniors will be participating in the Spring SAT/PSAT assessment mandated by the state of Illinois. All students will be notified of testing rooms and assignments in the coming days. Seniors will not be in attendance.
