Meet Nashua Staff!
Miss Kali Schoening
Hi there! My name is Kali Schoening. I’m beginning my 4th year of teaching in the North Kansas City School District. I taught fourth grade for two years and I’m in my second year of second grade. Teaching has always been my passion! I’m currently completing my master’s in educational leadership. I’m also recently engaged and looking forward to my wedding next summer! While I don’t have kids, I have a sweet one-year old puppy. My interests include reading mystery books, spending time with my family and friends, and exploring the world!
Mr. Jeff Rodgers
I am beginning my 23rd year of teaching (22 of those years at Nashua). I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in education and Learning Disabilities and my Master’s Degrees in Middle School Science from Northwest Missouri State University. I have taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. I have been married to my wife Jennifer for 22 years. We have 3 children, Logan (19), Mattingly (16) and Moses (15). I really enjoy tinkering in the garage, hanging out at home on the deck or patio with my family and going to sporting events with my kids.

The cafeteria is open!
Yes, you are able to eat in the café with your child again this year! Just come in through the office with your ID and wear your badge. We also ask that you remember the following.
Portrait of a Graduate
North Kansas City Schools will continue to implement our Portrait of a Graduate initiative this year. This program is designed to teach students different life skills that they can use to be successful.
During the month of October, Nashua will be focusing on Empathy. Empathy is demonstrated by showing sensitivity, concern, and respect for others. Students will be making intentional decisions to take actions by recognizing the impact of others around them. Nashua will encourage empathy by teaching classroom lessons, recognizing empathy, and setting individual goals. Empathy can be supported at home by talking about emotions and how our actions impact others.

Fall/Spring Party: We are able to have the parents back into the school to help out! This year, we are doing the parties differently due to the school wanting to try something new. Each grade will have an hour party time in the gym with 3 different stations. The stations will be a game, a craft, and a snack! We ask that parent helpers just come to the party and help with 1 of the stations. You will NOT need to provide any supplies, make any games or spend any time preparing before the party. PTA will provide the games, crafts, and snacks. Fall Party is Oct. 28. See the sign up link for times for each class. Costume parade and Dance Party will be from 2:45-3:30 p.m.

Reminders about Car Rider Drop-off (Repeated)
- Please ensure that your students are prepared to get out of the vehicle before you pull up to stop (ready to get out with backpacks, water bottles, etc.)
- If your child is reluctant to exit the vehicle, or if they are unprepared to exit the vehicle for any reason, please pull forward and to the left side while you resolve the issue, so that the line can continue to progress
- For safety reasons, students should exit the car on the passenger side.
- To avoid your child receiving a tardy and impacting their attendance, please attempt to complete drop-off before 9:12
Picking Students Up Late (Repeated)
Car Rider Line Procedure (Repeated)
Car riders will access their line from the westbound lane of 114th street by way of McGee street. The NKC buses will access the bus loop by driving eastbound on 114th street.
In addition, if you are lining up early for dismissal, we ask that you not block driveways and mailboxes along 114th street or McGee street.
Thank you so much for your cooperation, as this helps for a smoother dismissal for everyone.
