Dear GPISD Parents/Guardians and Families,

This school year is flying by--can you all believe that it is almost Spring Break? I am certain that many of you, like me, are looking forward to warmer temperatures and the opportunity to be outside, enjoying the sunshine.

Please take special note of the contents of this month's Parent Newsletter--we have already begun planning for next year! I thank you for your support and encouragement throughout this school year, and look forward to continuing to work with you for the betterment of your children, our students.

In the Galena Park I.S.D. State of the District address, we showcase how we are accomplishing our mission to prepare students to become productive citizens and lifelong learners.

Throughout the State of the District video presentation and publication, you will learn about our 'Pathways to Success' wheel, including the seven focus areas that provide an inside look into what District employees implement inside and outside of the classroom to help our students achieve excellence every day.

The Community Collaborative for Proactive Parenting Virtual Meeting will be Thursday, March 25 at 6:15 p.m.

Galena Park I.S.D.'s mission is to prepare students to become productive citizens and lifelong learners. One way we contribute to our mission is through our Character Education program.

Curbside Meal Distribution for virtual learners will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m. at Cloverleaf Elementary, Galena Park Elementary, Jacinto City Elementary, Pyburn Elementary, Sam Houston Elementary and Tice Elementary Schools.

GPISD will also be offering free weekend meals for students attending face-to-face learning. Weekend meals are available for pick up at the student's home campus on Fridays.

Galena Park I.S.D. working with Precinct 2 Commissioner Adrian Garcia, has partnered with Harris County to provide additional after-hours technical support for students and parents. The Harris County Schools Digital Access Call Center will provide help Monday-Friday from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. and Saturday –Sunday 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Callers may still email techsupport@galenaparkisd.com or call 832-386-1400 for assistance. Phones will be answered by the Harris County Call Center after hours.

Parents and students can access the Galena Park I.S.D. Help Center, 24/7, at https://galenaparkisd.zendesk.com/hc/

Legacy Community Health (Legacy) is the largest federally qualified health center in Texas and a first-of-its-kind in GPISD with clinics inside Green Valley Elementary School and North Shore Senior High School for students and their siblings to visit.
