A Message from the Administration
Parents often wonder what teachers work on during their inservice days and perhaps why those days are scattered throughout the year. During the inservice days prior to the Thanksgiving break, teachers spent time learning about changes being implemented in our schools this year.
Science teachers across the nation are in the process of transition to the Next Generation Science Standards and this was a focus during the inservice for Williston. While the existing science NECAP assessment will continue to measure progress related to the current science standards for another year or two, teachers are comparing the two curriculum documents in order to create the most effective transition possible.
K-4 science teachers engaged in extensive analysis of the release items from the science NECAP assessment that was given last May. This entailed reviewing the released questions, looking at how our students answered and reflecting on when those concepts were taught in the curriculum. Continue reading

Email your answer (share how you arrived at it if you are so inclined) to Julie Rogers (jrogers@cssu.org) with Family Math Challenge in the subject line. Got Scoliosis? You're not alone!! www.CurvyGirlsScoliosis.com
Strep throat is a common type of sore throat in children, but it's not very common in adults. Healthcare professionals can do a quick test to determine if a sore throat is strep throat and decide if antibiotics are needed. Proper treatment can help you feel better faster and prevent spreading it to others!
People with strep throat should stay home from work, school, or daycare until they have taken antibiotics for at least 24 hours so they don't spread the infection to others.
