Cell phone usage
Just a reminder that school cell phones/watches need to be turned off during the school day. This includes buses and bus stops. We would appreciate you monitoring your child’s cell phone use to ensure they are not using them during school hours. Below is a part of our school handbook regarding electronic devices:
PROHIBITED ELECTRONIC DEVICES
(Pages 14-15 from DISTRICT 303 ADDENDUM TO STUDENT HANDBOOKS)
- Using or possessing a laser pointer unless under a staff member’s direct supervision and in the context of instruction.
- Using or possessing an electronic paging device.
- Using a cellular telephone, video recording device, personal digital assistant (PDA), or other electronic device in any manner that disrupts the educational environment or violates the rights of others, including using the device to take photographs in locker rooms or bathrooms, cheat, or otherwise violate student conduct rules.
Prohibited conduct specifically includes, without limitation, creating, sending, sharing, viewing, receiving, or possessing an indecent visual depiction of oneself or another person through the use of a computer, electronic communication device, or cellular phone.
THE MOBILE DENTIST IS COMING SOON!!!!!!
Illinois state law requires that all children entering kindergarten, second grade, and sixth grade will have an oral health examination. A licensed dentist must perform the dental exam and he/she shall sign and date the report form. Dental offices usually have the form, but the dental exam form can be obtained by clicking here or by contacting your child’s school and requesting a dental exam form or by visiting d303.org website under departments, then Health Services. This exam must be completed within 18 months of May 15, 2024.
In an effort to assist you in completing this oral health exam for your child, the Mobile Dentist will be on site at Davis on Feb. 6th and Richmond on Feb 7th -provided we have enough students for the Mobile Dentist to come. Please consider taking this opportunity of in-school care at little to no cost to you.
- The Mobile Dentist accepts Medicaid and private insurance.
- Self-pay by cash or check for $70 is also available for those without insurance coverage.
- Services provided are cleaning, screening, sealants, and flouride.
- Forms will be sent home and must be completed and signed by parent or guardian. Extra forms are available in the health office or you can click below to download a copy.
- Please return the forms by 1/10/24.
- Sign-up can also be completed online by clicking here: My School Dentist
If you have any questions, please contact your school’s health office:

Morning Drop Off Reminder
When dropping off your students on seventh street please be aware that the cut off time is 8:00 sharp. Supervisors are back in the building and the door is locked. We have had some students dropped off after 8:00 and parents leaving when supervision is not present. Please go to the parking lot and sign in your student at door 1. We ask that you park in the parking lot and not in the bus lane, as we have buses arriving after 8:00 and cars can obstruct their designated lane.

We are so grateful for their service!
